Xigia beach is located about 23 km northeast of Zakynthos town.
It is the only one on the island with thermal waters since the caves next to it secrete sulfur. It is a picturesque beach, with fine golden sand and deep blue, crystal clear, deep waters.
The smell is typical in this area as sulfur is present in a large proportion in relation to water. In the past, the villagers used sulfur to heal the wounds of their animals. Access to the beach is relatively easy, there are parking spaces right next to it.
Sulfur comes from the neighboring caves, so this beach is ideal for those who have leg pain and arthritis as swimming in water with sulfur will help.
It is also known to be good for the skin and helps with cellulite.
